Do you want to crochet the free coaster pattern? Read till the end, because it’s all yarn and crochet talk and we all love that, right?
Stylecraft’s newest range of yarn is ‘Naturals’. A Bamboo/Cotton blend (60%/40%) weighing 100g and 250 metres in length. It is one of the softest yarns I’ve worked with and have easily fallen in love with it.
It is pure joy to work with. Effortless gliding on your hook, beautiful stitch definition and the feel…well you’ll have hold it in your own hands to be the judge. But I know you won’t be able to put it down or walk passed it. The drape, oh the drape (insert loving sigh). I’ve made a shawl in this yarn and to wear it is like wearing clouds but warm (just right), soft, cuddly clouds.
With 43 colours to choose from, you’ll have fun playing with combinations and probably want the entire range. (There’s no such thing as too much yarn, we all know that).

As promised here is the free 5-round pattern.
Yarn:
Stylecraft Naturals in Ecru, Powder Pink, Seafoam and Surf
Hook:
3.25 (A 3.5mm hook is actually recommended but mine magically disappeared in the night, so I had to use a smaller one)
Other:

Stitches and Abbreviations Used: US TERMS
MR – Magic ring (honestly, learn how to make one if you don’t already and practice, practice, practice – they are amazing)
Sc – single crochet: Insert hook into stitch or space indicated, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and pull through two loops
Hdc – half double crochet: Yarn over once, insert hook into stitch or space indicated, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and pull through three loops
Dc – double crochet: Yarn over once, insert hook into stitch or space indicated, yarn over and draw up a loop, (yarn over and pull through two loops) x 2
Standing dc: With slip stitch on hook, yarn over once, insert hook into stitch or space indicated, yarn over and draw up a loop, (yarn over and pull through two loops) x 2
Tr2tog cluster – treble two together cluster: [Yarn over twice, insert hook into stitch or sp indicated, yarn over and draw up a loop, (yarn over and pull through two loops) twice] x 2 yarn over and pull through all three loops
Standing tr2tog cluster: With slip stitch on hook [Yarn over twice, insert hook into stitch or sp indicated, yarn over and draw up a loop, (yarn over and pull through two loops) twice] x 2 yarn over and pull through all three loops
Sl St – slip stitch
Ch – chain
St/s – stitch/es
Sp/s – space/s

Notes:
Each round is started with a standing stitch (watch my video – which is with a slip stitch on your hook, make the indicated stitch as normal – need for chain stitches)
Each round is joined with an invisible join – watch my video on how to use this method
PATTERN
Round 1: Using Ecru or Colour 1
In MR, ch 3 (counts as dc), 11 dc in ring, join with invisible join (or your own method to top of ch 3 here and throughout). Cut yarn and weave in ends
12 dc
Round 2: Using Powder Pink or Colour 2
In any st, make a standing dc, dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around, join with invisible join, cut yarn and weave in ends.
24 dc
Round 3: Using Seafoam or Colour 3
In any st, make a standing tr2tog cluster, ch 4, skip st, sl st in next st, ch 4, skip st, *tr2tog cluster in next st, ch 4, skip st, sl st in next st, ch 4, skip st*, repeat from * to * around and join with slip stitch to 1st tr2tog cluster made. Do not cut yarn.
6 tr2tog clusters, 12 ch-4 sps, 6 sl st
Round 4: Still using same colour – this around is worked into tr2tog clusters only
Ch 1 (doesn’t count as st), *2 sc in tr2tog cluster, ch 7*, repeat from * to * around, join with invisible join to 1st sc made. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
12 sc, 6 ch-7 sp
Round 5: Using Surf or Colour 4
In any 1st sc made in previous rnd, make a standing dc, ch 3, dc in next st, (dc, hdc, sc, ch 5, sc, hdc, dc) in ch-7 sp, *dc in next st, ch 3, dc in next st, (dc, hdc, sc, ch 5, sc, hdc, dc) in ch-7 sp*, repeat from * to * around and join with invisible join. Cut yarn and weave in ends. Use your fingers to move stitches so that they sit nice on ch-7 sp.
48 dc, 12 hdc, 12 sc, 6 ch-3 sp, 6 ch-5 sp
