Resilience in Bloom Information
Good morning everyone!
I’m happy to report that I finished weaving in all the ends last night. I highly recommend that when you make your own blanket, you weave in as you go. (As a designer, you never know when you’re going to frog, so I like to leave my ends out ‘just in case’, because we all know how hard it us to find the ends after we’ve woven them in π ).
I have loved seeing how excited you all are. It makes my heart sing. It really does! So thank you for your beautiful words, they do mean a lot. ππ₯°
Let’s get down to business…
But before I do the approximate size of the blanket is 152 cm x 178 cm (it’s not too stretched out, but not-not stretched lol) . The reason I say approximate is because this design can easily stretch or sit not too-stretch. You’ll know what I mean after you start making yours.
Yarn Information
Here’s the information for the yarn I have used and also if you’re alternating a colourway (I’ll explain a little more further on).
Yarn Used: Stylecraft Special DK in the following π§Ά
Sunshine Coast Colourway
Colour Name | Colour Code | Amount Needed | Skeins Needed |
Cream | 1005 | 408g | 5 |
Mustard | 1823 | 63g | 1 |
Gold | 1709 | 61g | 1 |
Spice | 1171 | 45g | 1 |
Tomato | 1723 | 32g | 1 |
Lipstick | 1246 | 15g | 1 |
Pistachio | 1822 | 57g | 1 |
Lincoln | 1834 | 67g | 1 |
Cypress | 1824 | 60g | 1 |
Bottle | 1009 | 58g | 1 |
Storm Blue | 1722 | 56g | 1 |
Cornish Blue | 1841 | 49g | 1 |
Aster | 1003 | 49g | 1 |
Lapis | 1831 | 32g | 1 |
But I want to use my own colours… well that’s fine π I’ve worked out how much yarn you’ll need if you want to alternate the motifs. When I say alternate, I mean light colours blending to darker ones for half the motifs and then darker colours blending to lighter ones for the remaining motifs.
Originally this design was made using just 5 colours, which is what the below refers to. And I’ve seen some beautifu test motifs using this option. They look amazing.
The below information is for all motifs; butteflies and flowers and the border too.
Colours | Amount Needed | Skeins Needed |
Main colour | 408g | 5 |
Colour 1 | 184g | 2 |
Colour 2 | 141g | 2 |
Colour 3 | 141g | 2 |
Colour 4 | 184g | 2 |
I hope the above yarn information helps. You’ll also need a 4mm and 4.5mm hook depending on your tension. More of that information will be in the pattern itself.
So let the countdown BEGIN…
1st January 2021, what a great way to start the new year. Good riddance 2020 π π π€ͺ.
Make sure you’ve joined the Stylecraft Make Along Group on Facebook too, as it is Stylecraft’s January Make Along.
So until then…
Happy Hooking!
Much love,
Em xxx

Absolutely gorgeous! It will be an amazing CAL and I love working with that yarn (the colors, the stitch definition, the spring: oh my!)

Is it very difficult?

Hi Caroline, not at all. The only tricky parts are front post stitches and getting your mind around how it joins. Look up front post single/double crochet and practice to see hoe you feel

Hi Jolanda,
Patterns are only sold via my Ravelry or Etsy store, not with the yarn x

That is a disappointment for me because i hoped i was a free pattern cal on fb. When i got a early xmas gift (money) I bought the pack and was so excited to start working on it in January.
