I wish I were an octopus

Four years ago I wrote a poem. A poem about being a crocheter… and how handy it would be to have more limbs… I thought I should share it here too. I hope you enjoy it. I wish I were an octopus. I wish I were an octopuswith 2 feet and 6 arms..Everything on my to do listI’d do it with sweet charm..That wip that has sat thereIn the corner collecting dust..Well I’d take my hook and all my yarnand finish it no fuss..Dc in the next stitch, chain twoand skip another..I’d… Read More

I’m sort of back…

So it’s been 6 weeks since I began my break. And if I’m being honest, which you know I am…I have really found myself again, or at least started to. I have had a few little health issues, which the majority have been resovled and tomorrow I hope I will get the all clear tomorrow from my cardiologist. Physically (apart from the heart issue) and mentally I feel like I’m much more ‘me’ and I have improved on a daily basis or maybe if I really think about it, found peace within…. Read More

It’s time to take a break

It’s time for me to take a break. I think my body is telling me I’m doing too much and it’s starting to take a toll on my health. I’m a ‘yes’ person, a people-pleaser, and I’ll always put you first. That’s not working out so well for me at the moment, so it’s time to take a step back, evaluate and prioritise what’s important and needs my attention first and foremost. Right now, that’s my health. I’ll still pop in occassionally and check-in. I don’t know about you, but I’ve mentioned… Read More

Crochet Tournament 2020

The very first Crochet Tournament in Australia came to an end on Monday night. I probably should have spoken about it prior to this, but you know, life gets in the way, throw in everything else that’s going on in 2020 and well….that’s why I’m writing about it now lol. Earlier in the year, I was approached by Lynda from Crochet Australia to see if I wanted to design a 50cm and 15cm square of for this special event. The idea arose after the cancellation of the 2020 Olympics, and with most… Read More

As promised, here is the FREE pattern for squaring up your Floral Dreams motifs! But first, I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy and still managing to move about and look after your mental health too! I’m super excited about this version as it creates an whole new look for the blanket and also makes it able to be turned into cushions too, or other things if you’re creative like that and can think of something else lol. Right now, I can’t, but that’s ok :). I look forward to seeing… Read More

Mindless Crochet: How to crochet a scarf

I was needing another mindless project on my hook that I could pick up in between designs. So I came up with this little 4-round repeat, which I’m making into a scarf. It’s nice and repetitive but requires a little thinking to get started lol. I hope you can join in and make your own. (It doesn’t have to just be a scarf, you could make it into a blanket or cushion etc too) Materials: Yarn: I’m using Bambino Prints by Stylecraft (just going to see how long I can make it… Read More

Goodbye 2019

Apologies come first as I’ve been super busy with life (I know, how annoying sometimes), that I haven’t had much time to actually sit down and blog. I’ve missed it. So I’m going to start again by saying goodbye. That’s weird but true. YEAR IN REVIEW As my memory isn’t very good, I’m actually going to use my Instagram account as a bit of a reminder of what has happened this year. (Stay tuned for something special at the end) I don’t know how many designs I have created this year, but… Read More
