If you don’t know by now, I have a thing for mandalas. I love making them, designing them, and seeing them finished.

Here you will find the information needed in order to make this mandala, along with colour recipe ideas.

This is a pattern I have had released for a while, but I had this feeling to release it as a CAL. So I am! Let’s dive right in 😀

INFORMATION:

MATERIALS:

Yarn: Stylecraft Naturals Organic Cotton (100% cotton, 50g/1.76 oz, 105m/114yds)

Colours: 7171, 7191, 7192, 7198, and 7185 (this is what I used for the photo above)

Crochet Hook: 4mm / US G / UK 6

NOTIONS:
Scissors, yarn needle and ring to fit (optional).

FINISHED SIZE:
37.5cm/14.76inches unblocked

STITCHES AND ABBREVIATIONS USED US TERMS:


Ch – chain
Sp/s – space/s
Sl st – slip stitch
Prev – Previous
Eg. – Example
St/s – stitch/es
Standing Stitch: With a slip knot on your hook, work indicated stitch as normal
Sc – Single crochet: Insert hook into indicated stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and pull through two loops.
Dc – Double Crochet: Yarn over once, insert hook into indicated stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, (yarn over and pull through two loops) 2 times.
Fldc – Front loop double crochet: Yarn over once, insert hook upwards under the front loop of indicated stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, (yarn over and pull through two loops) 2 times.
Tr – Treble crochet: Yarn over twice, insert hook into stitch or space indicated, yarn over and draw up a loop, (yarn over and pull through two loops) 3 times.
Pop – Popcorn: 5 dc into stitch or space indicated, drop loop from hook, insert into first dc made, pick up dropped loop and pull through all loops.
Puff – Puff: (Yarn over, insert hook into stitch or space indicated and pull up a loop) three times, yarn over and pull through six loops, yarn over and pull through last two loops.
Tr3tog cl – Treble 3 together Cluster: Yarn over twice, insert hook in stitch or space indicated, yarn over and draw up a loop (yarn over and pull through two loops) twice, leaving two loops on hook. Repeat from * to * 2 times then yarn over and pull through all loops.
Beg tr3tog cl – Beginning Treble 3 together Cluster: Ch 3 (counts as one part of treble cluster), *yarn over twice, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yarn over and draw up a loop, (yarn over and pull through two loops) twice, leaving two loops on hook, repeat from * to * once, then yarn over and pull through all loops.
Fptrtr2tog – Front Post Triple Treble 2 Together: Yarn over 4 times, insert hook from front to back to front around post of st indicated, yarn over and draw up a loop, (yarn over and pull through two loops) three times, leaving two loops on hook, repeat from * around, yarn over and pull through all hooks remaining on hook.
Dtr3tog cl – Double Treble 3 Together Cluster: Yarn over 3 times, insert hook into st or sp indicated, yarn over and draw up a loop, (yarn over and pull through two loops) 3 times, repeat from * 2 times, yarn over and pull through 4 loops remaining on hook.
Fpsc – Front Post Single Crochet: Insert hook from front to back to front around post of indicated st, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and pull through all loops.
Fphdc – Front Post Half Double Crochet: Yarn over once, insert hook from front to back to front around st indicated, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and pull through all loops.
Fpdc – Front Post Double Crochet: Yarn over once, insert hook from front to back to frond around st indicated, yarn over and draw up a loop, (yarn over and pull through two loops) x 2
Blo sc – Back Loop Only Single Crochet: Make a sc into the back and third loop of st indicated
Blo hdc – Back Loop Only Half Double Crochet: Make a hdc into the back and third loop of st indicated
Blo dc – Back Loop Only Double Crochet: Make a dc into the back and third loop of st indicated
Picot: Chain 2, slip stitch in front loop of stitch and last leg of stitch

MORE INFORMATION

This crochet-along will not be released in parts. You will have access to the entire pattern.

Part 1 will finish at end of round 6 (Tuesday 1 March to Monday 7 March)

Part 2 will finish at end of round 15. (Tuesday 8 March to Monday 14 March)

Part 3 will finish at end of round 22 and will complete the crochet-along. (Tuesday March 15 to Monday 21 March)

This CAL is not a time-consuming one, it’s designed to fit in with you and your lifestyle. If you go over the times mentioned above, don’t stress, they are there just as a guideline for anyone who likes time limits.
