Lace & Bloom – A little freebie
Good morning!!
It’s my birthday today and to celebrate it, I’m giving something to you. A new free pattern. This pattern happens to go with my Lace & Bloom Square, where I originally thought that there would be all different sorts of squares, resembling some sort of garden.
Fast forward to today and I’m releasing the second design, it has been a long time coming, but it’s finally here lol.
Say hello to the Royal D pattern, I actually designed it in colours that reminded me or Royal Doutlon’s blue and white hence the name. Now well, it’s colourful but the name still remains the same hehehe.

Here comes the exciting parts….
Materials:
Yarn – Stylecraft Special Dk in your choice of colours, 5 colours are used in this example
Hook – I used a 4mm Clover hook
Scissors
Yarn Needle
Notes:
- Each round was started using a standing stitch, please see Moogly’s blog on how to do them, you can them adapt how they do a standing dc to suit whatever stitch is required.
- This pattern is written in US terms and UK in parenthesis ( ) and in purple
- I finish off my rounds with an invisible join where I say ‘jss’ please see Dedri’s blog post on how to do it ๐
- Skill level – intermediate, but if you’re an adventurous beginner then give it a go too ๐
