A crochet pincushion – US and UK Terms
About:
I designed this mandala for the 2023 Crochet Retreat. I think it’s a cute little mushroom and I hope it brings a little happiness and light into your lives.
Pattern:
This pattern is written in both UK and US terms and consists of round-by-round photographs to help you along the way.
Skill level:
It is aimed at an Intermediate to advanced beginner to intermediate crocheter due to the stitches used. I write my patterns so that all skill levels can understand, so why not give it a go.
Yarn:
Scheepjes Catone was used to make these scrumptious mushies (Aussie slang for mushrooms)- but you could make it from any yarn (great stash buster).
Other Materials:
3.5mm – 4mm hook (or corresponding hook to go with your choice of yarn)
Scissors
Yarn needle
Polyfil for stuffing (not much at all is needed).
Finished Size:
Approximately 8cm across and 5-6cm high.
One cushion weighs approximately 22 grams.
Gauge:
Not important – depends on your tension and yarn, find what works for you comfortably, and then find the ring to fit if it’s bigger or smaller 🙂
Optional:
You don’t have to use this as a pincushion. It could just look pretty wherever you put it.
