I have been meaning to do a weekly wrap up for sometime and have never gotten my butt into gear. I don’t know whether to put it down to crocheting obsessively, being a mum and housewife or just because I’m so tired from not getting any sleep for about 7 months now (thanks Willybum).
I thought I’d share what I have done from the week, focusing solely on the crochet aspect of my life. Sooo here goes nothing.
This week’s post may have a little of last week’s too and seeing as it’s the first one, I think I can get away with it. Let me just say two words: MANDALA MADNESS!!!!!! The name certainly fits how I feel about crocheting this beautiful piece of art. I go mad because I want to drop absolutely everything and just keep going round after round, part after part. It for me, is nearly seriously addictive ;).
See, can you understand why I want to keep going and going? I just have to see what the next part is going to look like. This pattern is beautifully made! The direct link to the crochet-along or CAL is http://www.crystalsandcrochet.com. There you will find all the information needed to begin and each part. To make it even better, the lovely Esther from http://www.itsallinanutshell.com has made videos for every round!! So if you get a bit stuck, like I did or if you’re more of a visual person, then these videos are awesome!!! AND what’s even better.. yes it can get better, is that it doesn’t really matter whether you are a beginner or crochet addict, these videos will help. Learning new stitches and techniques as you go. I didn’t think it were possible to have more stitches haha. Little did I know!!
As you can see in the above photo collage thingy, I am using six colours. Stylecraft Special Dk is my weapon aka yarn of choice. It’s my fave at the moment. And the amazing colours sound like a recipe, well almost… Plum, Boysenberry, Sage, Duck Egg, Parchment and Petrol.
Unfortunately I had to do a bit of frogging (undoing).. yes sad I know, but had to be done as I’d made a mistake 4 rounds back and it needed to be fixed in order to continue. So I highly recommend double counting as you go and definitely at the end of each round.
I also spent some time taking new photos for my Jolly Mandala pattern which I was meant to release this week, any guesses why I was so distracted? hehehe. Here’s what the Jolly Mandala looks like made in Stylecraft Special Dk too 🙂
Well that basically wraps up the week that was.. I am sure you’ll see more Mandala Madness photos in next week’s post. Because it’s all about crochet crochet crochet. Now I’d better go fold the mountain I call Mount Washdontfold. Yep, my very neglected clean clothes mountain.
Have a super week everyone. For the love of crochet, pick up a hook and give it a go xoxox
